Zion, IL — Wednesday's game against Lake Forest was a heartbreaker for the Zee-Bees as they lost a lead in the top of the 6th inning in an 8-4 defeat. A few fielding errors in the inning doomed the Bees. However, the Zee-Bees fought back, loading the bases in the bottom of the 6th and 7th, but were only able to plate one run in the two rallies. Dominik Leith took the hard-luck loss without allowing an earned run, allowing 2 hits over 1 and 2/3rd innings striking out one, and walking none. Rafael "Junior" Villalobos started the game for the Zee-Bees throwing a strong 5 and a 1/3rd innings allowing 7 hits and 4 runs while striking out 6. Junior, Marcelo Gonzalez, Andrew Carlson, and Kaden Oatsvall collected one hit each to lead the Zee-Bees offense. Malachi Baartz stole a base for the Zee-Bees, adding to his team lead. The Zee-Bee runs were scored by Mason Diaz, AJ Neargarder, Andrew Carlson, & Sean Sarzaba. The Zee-Bees return to action at home on Saturday for a doubleheader against the Antioch Sequiots.
