Anaheim, CA — Great revenge game today! Last time the Lions were at OLu, we lost on a 9-9, 73-34 game count verdict, which kept us from the CIF playoffs. Brady was surgical today, especially in round one, fighting from behind with a late break and hold for the 7-5 victory. He swept his other 2 and Zach had 2 singles set victories, one an upset…over OL’s #1. That player disposed of Servite’s #1 AND #2 singles players 6-OH, 6-OH!!! Hudson added and an additional set to the singles tally after subbing in for Cole. Cole has had some VERY difficult matches vs these players from SM, Servite and Olu who are the best players in the league, along with ours. ALL the boys from Olu were freshmen today, so, Cole is looking at his competition for the next 3 years. BUT “Wait, there’s more!!!” JSerra doubles SWEPT all 9 doubles sets today, which they also accomplished in week one vs Mater Dei. Marco/Mikey then with Peter in round 3, Gary/Connor then with Emilio in round 3, and Charlie/Cade then with Joe in rounds 2 and 3. The doubles weren’t pressed much today; Joe and Charlie were down vs Olu’s top doubles team 2-5 and crawled back for a tiebreaker win. Peter and Marco had a tiebreaker win in the last round also. These were the last two matches being played, which added a little drama. KOach Knotes: “The final score looked lopsided, but the doubles teams had to battle.
