Costa Mesa, CA — Laguna's JV team played their first "away" match of the year against Newport Harbor on Tuesday, on the Mesa Linda course at Costa Mesa CC. The first tee time for the match was late in the afternoon (4:30 pm) and as a result all the players only got through 8 holes because of darkness. In the end, Newport won the match 172-241. Freshman Hudson Mills posted the low score for Laguna with a 46. Pedro Pinera was one stroke behind with a 47, followed by Andrew Tyson and Sasha Riahi who both shot 48. The other scores for Laguna included Lachlan Soloff (52), James Schroeder (56), and Trent Beason (59). The team will try and regroup when they play a home match against Los Alamitos on Thursday.
