Tonganoxie, KS — We have finally played our first game of the season and it was a joy to see what players could do what. A roster seeing 10 returning varsity players and 22 new fresh faces creates excitement from a coaches point of view by knowing this team is going to be getting better and better with each game. Today was a learning game, only 2 returning starters means that a team has a lot to figure out and it will take more than just 80 minutes to gel. We saw multiple girls step up and show us they are going to be impact players, not just for this year but for years to come. The score line didn’t favor us but we will use this game to get better and to work on creating more chances on goal. We look to build upon the small successes that we had today and make them more consistent. I promise that if you watch the film from today and compare it to the film of our last game, you will think you are watching 2 different teams.
