San Juan Capistrano, CA — A bit unbalanced in the loss again, winning only 2 singles sets and 4 doubles. To quote an old speaker story: “There’s got to be a pony under there somewhere.” Meaning when we solidify doubles partners by Trinity League play, we should be really solid in doubles. Additionally, Coach Nick from Crean only put 1 sub in, even though they brought 17 players??? So if we were to play them head to head, strength to strength, the outcome would most likely be different. MVP’s for todays match are those players who won 100% of matches played. In Doubles: Logan Lebsack (2 tie-breakers no less!). One win with Kenneth Perez, the other with Max Chiotis. Also in doubles, Luke Krolikowski won both of his sets played, one with Hudson Aase, one with Max Chiotis. Calvin Yang won his only set of singles, in the opening round 6-1. Great job Calvin. San Gou won the other set to give us 6 total for the afternoon. Also, kudos to Thomas Gormley, who got the only games off their top player, and lost a tough tie-breaker to their #2 player, who nobody else beat. Next up: at Huntington Beach this Friday, 2:45.
