Dana Point, CA — Rain drops when we arrived, big time rain as we left. Some good tennis in-between. We were up in 3 of the unfinished sets, tied in one, with what would have been the final set never started. Mathematically matches are won when one team reaches 10 set wins, which our JV boys did in short order. Singles were perfect today with Sam Gou and Jacob Le Brun both winning 3 of 3 sets played. Luke Krolikowski won 2 of 2 at #1 before stepping aside to let Thomas Gormley play, who was up 4-0 when “Rain Drops Kept Fallin’ on My Head.” Doubles took longer today, not sure why? Landon SACHS was the only player to finish and win 2 full sets - opening set w Michael Aceves and round 2 w Christopher Kempf. Andrew Whitehead won opening round easily vs their top team w Logan Lebsack before being sub’d out. To a man, all the doubles players said they would have closed out w 100% wins, had it not started raining: Nicholas, Logan, Michael, Kenny, Alex, and Jack. MVP Honors today to all the JV rookies from last year’s Frosh Soph team and outright ROOKIES into our program who all won (or on the way to winning) 100% of sets played today. Jacob LeBrun, Landon SACHS, Christopher Kempf, Michael Aceves, Alex Gibson, along w Thomas Gormley and Jack McDermott, who were “right there”! Next match: Monday, Feb. 27th at Huntington Beach.
