Murrieta, CA — A tough loss for us last night. The positives are that we led for 29 minutes over one of the top 5 teams in SD county. Of course since the game is 32 minutes long, one of the glaring negatives is that we didn't finish them off and win the game. We did a good job last night but the reality is that if we are to be considered one of the best (as LJCD is) then we need to be better on both sides of the court. We were not quite sharp enough on the offensive end.....some forced shots at critical times and not as good a flow as we have displayed at other times. On the defensive side, we were chasing a very efficient and great shooting team all night and they made us pay for it with 8 made 3 pointers in the 2nd half alone. We will get better over time. I believe we have receptive guys that will learn from last night. It was a great early test and we responded well by getting them down. Now we need to evolve over time and fix some of the flaws we have so that we can reach that upper tier that we all want to be included in. Game 3 of the season will be tomorrow night (Saturday) at Westview High School. This is another top 20 team of San Diego so we will need to bounce back quickly. Game 4 will be next Wednesday back at home again against El Camino. We appreciate everyones support last night and hope to see you again next week!
