Brea, CA — The Frosh/Soph Knights visited the Brea Olinda Wildcats on Wednesday afternoon. Coming off their win last night against Northwood HS, the boys kept the momentum going.
The Knights were quick to add pressure to try to break the defense of the Wildcats. Foothill secured a corner early in the game, delivered in by Sergio Avalos found Devin Orozco near the far post for the first goal of the game.
The second and third goals were made by Jake Smith. He caught the defense off guard, scoring the second goal of the game.
A penalty was awarded to the Knights and Jake stepped up and confidently put it away for the 3rd goal of the game.
To start the second half, Garett Zehner came on to the attack and made an immediate impact, creating chances and then finding the back of the net for the 4th.
The Knights were applying pressure towards the end of the game, looking for another goal, and in a little bit of a scramble Devin Orozco found the ball on a half volley to beat the keeper and seal the game with the 5th and final goal of the match.
Good job by all the boys. It was a team effort with everyone playing a part as the Knights dominated the game. Jake Smith left the game early due to injury and we hope for a speedy recovery.
