Santa Ana, CA — The Lady Grizzlies were home for the quarter final match against #1 seed United Christian Academy in what was the game of the season for Godinez. The crowd came out in huge force for this fight. Both teams came out strong and ready to go. The score went back and forth but the #1 seed won that set. However, the Lady Grizzlies came back firing from all sides to take the second set. UCA showed why they are #1 seed going into the third set as they dominated and took set 3 in a clear win. The fourth set was a different story. The Lady Grizzlies came back from a 10 point deficit at 10-19 and battled and fought like they have always done all season long showing the true heart and will that they have fighting to get her and working as a team but it wasn’t quite enough this time and took a loss 25-27 for the fourth set and match loss. The crowd helped to will the girls back in the game and the girls didn’t not disappoint them with their energy and fight. However, UCA was determined to come out the victors as they advance to the semi finals. The Lady Grizzlies make history as being the first team to make it as far as they did! No other team has gone to the quarter finals of CIF play!
