Huntington Beach, CA — Great Day for the Lions. The ladies took a 2 - 0 record in to their final pool play, effectively the semi-finals, but, could not hold on for the win. Great efforts in this match were: Cordelia winning at line#1 singles, 8-3 and our other point came from our awesome duo, Neeka and Olivia who held on for a 8-6 victory, completeing their undefeated day! Natalie and Ellie again came up short in a real tough 7-8 tiebreaker loss. They played the toughest accumulations of opponents all day, but, this is what KOach is looking for, easy ones don't help us much in the long run. Sophia and Kate were apparently on their way to a clean sweep, but, ran out of gas mid way through this last set. They are very competitive and their upside is promising! Kate is also playing volleyball. Cecilia had a tough singles match, KOach thinks El Do played their singles lineup reversed, which isn't really kosher in this college-type format [perfectly OK in our regular dual matches as we rotate and play all 3 signgles/doubles opponents]. MOST IMPORTANTLY, I want to thank our awesome parents who stayed all day to watch, brought tons of food, snacks, drinks, tables, tent, chairs and enthusiasm... it was a perfect day in Surf City! AND I can not tell you how many complements we get on our uniforms! and requests from other coaches asking for the company's contact information. As I told the girls, out of the EIGHT schools present... we were the only school truly branded by our school name! Five of the schools wore plain tops/skirts, one had nice unis, largely branded = Jaguars [I have no idea the school name]. Marina had visors w/ "M" on it and another school had generic tops w/ skirts with some kind of small "R" that was on the back of the skirt! ;) I love all of our teams, our school staff and support groups and I thank God everyday for the privelege of being a part of the JSerra Family!
