Laguna Beach, CA — We added Laguna Beach late to give their new varsity coach more pre-league matches. This also gave us an opportunity to put in the A & B travel squads before the super competitive Trinity League matches begin on Thursday. Coach Nick and the Breakers were nice hosts - he wanted to play all doubles, so we did, except for 1 line of 3 singles sets, because we only had 11 players. MVP honors today to Kendall Beuerlein who won all 3 sets played, including the only singles set won by JSerra - a tie-breaker in the last set of the day. Well played. Kendall won her 2 sets of doubles, one each with Julianna Rough and Jordan Gross. Top 4 doubles teams each won all 3 sets played, to join Kendall in the 100% club and MVP honors for today’s efforts: 1. Sophia Staff / Neeka Barkhordar 2. Sophia Stewart / Caitlyn Davidson 3. Jacqueline Poli / Hailey Klein 4. Isabella Aftabi / Colette Chang Despite the lopsided score, Laguna had some pretty good players, a few with fast serves. Enjoyed watching the girls adjust to return those fast serves, there will be more coming from Mater Dei and SM! Next up: this Thursday vs Mater Dei at Los Caballeros - TRINITY LEAGUE OPENER!
