Medford, OR — Emma Coats buried three shots for scores, and Autumn Murray added a brace for good measure as Cascade Christian secured a 5-2 victory over Coquille/Myrtle Point. The Challengers climb to .500 with a 2-2 overall mark, and 1-1 record in conference play. From the opening whistle, Cascade was firing shots. Anna Horn had three shots on goal in the first 15 minutes, and Bella Williams, Emma Coats, and Aubrey Hess also had opportunities. Coats broke the deadlock 19 minutes into the match off of a feed from Angelica Arce. Eight minutes later, the prolific sophomore scored another goal on a breakaway to make it 2-0. Callie Millet got the Red Devils on the board in the 37th minute. Murray added a third tally for the Challengers thanks to a pass from Horn. Coats achieved the hat trick by scoring three minutes into the second half. Coquille/Myrtle Point picked up a goal on a penalty kick in the second half. A questionable handball call was made against Murray as the ball deflected off of her on the run. Late in the match, Murray earned her second goal of the day, weaving through traffic and burying the shot. Ellie Vanlandingham, Aubrey Hess, and Taylor Folin figured in the attack on the day. Next up, Cascade Christian takes on North Valley, Monday at their place. By Jim McCoy
