Warren 21, Mission Viejo 36
Mikey Matthews, with a spectacular catch, led his team to a 36-21 victory in the championship game over Warren High School.
Mission Viejo, CA — Mission ran the table and defeated Warren High 36-21 claiming the 2022 South County Classic Champs. Mission’s high powered offense, led by Ball State Commit and QB1 Kadin Semonza, proved to be too much for the young and talented Warren High. Semonza connected with star receivers Mickey Matthews, Arizona commit Jackson Holman, and Colorado commit Eddie Schultz, and KJ Reed for 5 scores in the championship game. Mission’s defense was dominant all day, priding itself on having a no name defense where every man does their job, and does it well. Today was no exception. Mission’s stingy defensive gave up less than 9 points per game.
This tournament closes out our summer ball program as we head into a brief dead period before fall camps begins. We are very excited about this upcoming season. Thank you all for your support! And let’s get ready cheer on all our Diablos!
