Hanford, CA — Dirtdogs Lujan claimed a 10-5 victory on Saturday, despite a big push by San Jose Sting Perales/Lucido in the fourth inning. Jos Hernandez and Jesika Souza both contributed in the big inning with RBIs. The Dirtdogs put up four runs in the second inning. Their offense was led by Carly Jimenez, Avery Smith, Audrina Ortiz, and Kyla Lujan, all knocking in runs in the inning. Sophia Martinez led the Dirtdogs to victory in the pitcher's circle. The righty surrendered one run on zero hits over three innings, striking out seven and walking one. Daniela Escamilla threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Kaylena Ogle took the loss for San Jose Sting. Ogle allowed five hits and ten runs over three and a third innings. The Dirtdogs launched one home run on the day, when Jimenez hit a dinger in the second inning. McKinly Meister went 2-for-3 at the plate leading the Dirtdogs in hits.
