Modesto, CA — Melanie Mendoza was an RBI machine on Sunday, driving in four on three hits to lead Dirtdogs Lujan past NorCal Choppers Cagiga 13-6 on Sunday. Mendoza drove in runs on a home run in the first and a double in the second.
The Dirtdogs earned the victory despite allowing NorCal Choppers to score five runs in the third inning. NorCal Choppers big inning was driven by a single by S. Wilson and a double by L. Frye.
The Dirtdogs got things started in the first inning when Mendoza homered on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring three runs.
The Dirtdogs tallied six runs in the second inning. The offensive onslaught was led by Mendoza, Emma Hernandez, Carly Jimenez, Khloie Gallo, Alexis Ruvalcaba, and McKinly Meister, all driving in runs in the frame.
