Modesto, CA — Despite allowing three runs in the fifth inning, Dirtdogs Lujan defeated Smoke Fastpitch NVB 7-4 on Saturday. Kaile Reyes, Bella Placencia, and Ella Von Bergen each drove in runs during the inning. In the first inning, the Dirtdogs got their offense started when Alexis Ruvalcaba singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. The Dirtdogs scored three runs in the third inning, driven by a triple from Avery Smith and a sac fly by Audrina Ortiz. Emma Hernandez earned the victory in the circle for the Dirtdogs. The pitcher surrendered four runs on seven hits over five innings, striking out six and walking one. Kaci Norton took the loss for Smoke Fastpitch.
