Burnsville, MN — Both teams were strong on the pitcher's mound Tuesday, but Burnsville Varsity Blaze defeated Prior Lake Lakers Varsity 2-1. The Blaze pitchers allowed just one hit to Prior Lake on the night. The Blaze scored their 2 runs in the bottom of the 5th inning. Following singles by Jonah Dawson and Asher Giese, a sacrifice bunt by John Santelman moved both runners into scoring position. Jake Struzyk then singled to right field scoring Dawson and Giese to take a 2-0 lead. Prior Lake got one run back in the top half of the 6th inning, to close out the scoring for the game. Nick Discher was credited with the victory for the Blaze. The righty surrendered one run on one hit over five and two-thirds innings, striking out three. Greydon Isebrand threw one and one-third innings in relief out of the bullpen. Isebrand recorded the last four outs to earn the save for the Blaze.
