Fullerton, CA — The girls started the game out strong and played their way to a 1-0 halftime lead. Ava Vazquez scored on a great toe poke to beat the keeper. They had multiple chances to add to their lead in the first half but couldn't finish. Alisa Kangas scored on a great combination play with Liky Hirsch down the left side. Sophie Forrester redirected and nice corner volley service from Annie Singelyn to push the lead to 3-0. Barcelona got fortunate a little while later to make it 3-1. They then made it closer with a free kick goal to tighten things up at 3-2. We finally put it out of reach with about 5 min to play when Sophie beat her defender to the left side and nutmeged the goalie from just inside the box. Great game girls. Let's keep it up.
