Boardman, OH — The Boardman Freshmen Baseball team took home their second straight victory with a 5-1 win against Mogadore Field. Once again the Spartans were led by a great pitching performance, this time from Ivan Rudiak who went 6.2 innings while striking out 6 and giving up only one run. Mason Nawrocki once again came in to close out the game to earn the save. Offensively the Spartans got just enough with Grayson Eicher, Mason Nawrocki, and Max Switka each having a hit. Kaden Mayhew and Sean O’Mellan each had an RBI. Nawrocki scored two runs and Eicher, Tommy Varley, and Landon Whippo added a run as well. Mayhew behind the dish and Cory Pekkanen at second base played strong defensive games to back up the good pitching.
