Goddard Lions JV Nabs Win Over Valley Center Despite Early 3-Run Inning

Valley Center, KS — Goddard Lions JV managed through a push by Valley Center in the fifth inning where Goddard Lions JV coughed up three runs, but Goddard Lions JV still won 12-4 on Tuesday. Valley Center scored its runs on a home run by T Emig.
Goddard Lions JV opened up scoring in the first inning, when Kaden Bethel singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.
Goddard Lions JV scored five runs in the third inning. Bethel, Easton Vierya, Blake Read, and Maddox Stevens all drove in runs in the frame.
Isaac Tatro was on the pitcher's mound for Goddard Lions JV. The pitcher went four and a third innings, allowing one run on two hits and striking out two.
A Doty led things off on the hill for Valley Center. Doty surrendered seven runs on seven hits over two and two-thirds innings, striking out three. Austin Saner and Emig entered the game as relief, throwing two and two-thirds innings and one and two-thirds innings respectively.
