Performance
Solid play at 3rd base. When his number was called to pitch, Brantley performed well for his 1st time on the mound in Kansas. His bases loaded clearing triple in the top of the 1st inning got the Pioneers started off well.

Pioneers drop both games to a very good Shawnee Mission NW club
JCCC, KS —
Coach Hoover didn't know what to expect going into this road trip. He said that the five seniors from last year had leadership and gritty play, and the Pioneers will have to search for those glue guys this year to keep an edge.

Pioneers get indoor practice at SMNW
JCCC, KS —
The boys open the season tomorrow with a tough tri against ranked teams in SMNW and Wichita Life Prep. On a cool, afternoon in Shawnee, Kansas, the boys took to some BP after checking into the OP Hyatt Place -- Convention Center. There was a strong emphasis on bunting and situational hitting. Both Hoovers tossed a lot of BP getting the boys ready for tomorrow's big games.
