San Juan Capistrano, CA — Portola is one of the few schools in Orange County which has more boys in the program than girls, causing tough internal competition for team and ladder placement. It was evident that there are a lot of “hungry” boys on their team, as they punished us in singles and doubles. MVP’s Sam Gou and Jordan Gessin won the only set of doubles today, 6-4 in the 3rd round. MVP in singles go to both Marco Belciano and Mikey Junge, who both defeated their line #1 player. These were the only sets won in singles vs the Bulldogs. Next up: Tuesday, March 15th vs Laguna Beach, home match, 3pm.
