Two Pitchers work together as Burnt Hills opens up the season with a 10-0 shutout over Albany

Burnt Hills, NY — The Burnt Hills Spartans Varsity defeated Albany 10-0 on Monday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. John Wells struck out Ben Viggiani to finish off the game.
Burnt Hills scored four runs in the fourth inning. The Spartan's offense in the inning came from singles by Kyle DeCresce and Noah DiCaprio and by Wells.
DeCresce earned the victory on the hill for Burnt Hills. The righty went five innings, allowing zero runs on one hit, striking out ten and walking one. Wells threw two innings in relief, tallying 5 strikeouts.
Alex Doehla took the loss for Albany. The pitcher surrendered five runs on two hits over three and a third innings, striking out six.
Luke Haluska led the Spartans with two hits in four at bats. Burnt Hills stole 11 bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Shane Bonney led the way with four.
