Rancho Santa Margarita, CA — The Eagles we’re a little stronger today in this rematch, giving the Lions a 13-5 beat down on SM’s courts. On the bright side, MVP Sam Asadi won all 3 singles sets played, coming back to force and win a tie breaker in the last set of the day 6-5. Great competitive effort in the heat today, especially in that last set….well done Sam. MVP honors also to Isaac Nguyen who won both of his double sets played: 2nd round strong win with Landon Sachs, followed by an ez 3rd round set with Ronan McKeagney. One of the best things about today’s match was overhearing (and seeing) 6-7 SM athletes (maybe lacrosse) hustling through the tennis court area out towards the fields, and stopping briefly because they couldn’t believe a guy in a wheelchair was out playing tennis.
