San Juan Capistrano, CA — JV takes Trinity League record to 2 wins, NO losses with solid win over visiting Friars today: 15-3. As usual, singles led the way, sweeping all 9 sets played. Marco Belciano, Mikey Junge and newly “elected” TEAM CAPTAIN Sam Gou all earned MVP honors today with 3 for 3 “hat tricks.” MVP honors also go to Nicholas Barrios and Cash Belciano, who started out slow in their first round of doubles, but fought back from 2-5 to win 7-5, followed by 2 x 6-1 wins for a perfect 3 for 3 afternoon. We picked up 2 more sets from Max Chiotis and Lucas Johnson, who played well together and came close to a 3rd set win in the final set of the day. Congrats to Ashton Peasley and Gavin Conniff who opened the afternoon up with a 6-3 win at line 3 doubles. Next up: Thursday, March 31st at home vs SMCHS, 3pm. This is a non-league “friendly” extra match to make up for OLu, Mater Dei and St. J Bosco not fielding JV teams.
