San Juan Capistrano, CA — JSerra hosted the Santa Margarita Eagles today in their 2022 Trinity League Opener. Rounds one was even-steven 3-3, then 5-7, but, the Lions stumbled between 2nd and 3rd. Highlights today were Gary and Joe, the only team/player[s] to capture 2 sets. Zach and Brady both had tight losses to SM's line 2 player; the Eagles #1 has an 11+ UTR and is the real deal. The Eagles line 1 doubles was unbeatable today, which is very interesting; apparently, one of them competed on their frosh soph team vs us a week ago!... Anthony and Luke seemd to be back on track, back at their spot at line 3 doubles, same as last year. For those of you following us from afar; the CA format is different... our three singles players and doubles teams play ONE set vs all 3 lines of the opponents; not just 1 vs 1, 2 vs 2 etc like college... Anyway, back to the drawing board/practice field and will be ready for Bosco next Tuesday! GO LIONS!!!
