Recap
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
Goleta, CA — As the team got off the bus and was in search of any open restrooms, I thought I was on the set my of one of my favorite Jack Nicholson's movies and was looking around for "Chief" in the paint for way longer than 3 seconds.
Well, we escaped the 'prison yard' [just kidding.. a very nice setting just minutes away from the PAC ocean in rolling hills] and the 2nd round of CIF with a solid 13 - 5 victory over Dos Pueblo in Santa Barbara today. MVP contributors, winning 3 of 3 sets they played were our outstanding doubles duos; Sophie Moncur with Kylie Davidson and also Aerin Fraize with Anna Ciraci. Halle Parker defeated both line 1 and 2 singles sets, and definitely would have pulled a hat trick had KOach not subbed her out. ALL subs played again today, thanks to the starters piling up an 11 - 1 lead after round 2.
The bus ride, especially home was a great bonding event..it is fun to win.
BIG thanks to Mrs Early for making a great chicken sald lunch for the girls, all individually packaged and as always Mrs Davidson, who always brings great and healthy food. Mrs Parker brought a great cornucopia to the match Wednesday too!
"Stuff's about to get real" as they say. We travel to Fullerton to play Troy in a tough quarter final Monday.
GO LIONS !!!
