Casey Fust (SO/Brea, CA) led the offensive charge with a team-high 19 points and added five rebounds. Ana Resendiz (JR/Ontario, CA) added 17 points with four steals, three assists and four rebounds and Shiane Talley (SO/Rialto, CA) added nine points with a team-high 11 rebounds. The Royals forced 24 Warrior turnovers that led to 15 points for the Royals. HIU jumped in front right from the start against Westcliff, roaring out to a 12- advantage before stretching that to 16-7 by the end of the first quarter. The Royals started the game with three free throws, a layup from Casey Fust, followed by a steal from Jeanette Fine (FR/Las Vegas, NV) that led to a layup from Fine. After leading 16-7 at the end of one, the Royals continued pulling away during the second stanza. Another layup from Fine would start the second quarter for the Royals and another three-pointer from Fust would put the Royals up 21-9. The Royals ended the half with a three-pointer and layup from Ana Resendiz and a layup from Rhianne Omori (JR/Honolulu, HI) to lead 40-21 at the half. Fust took over in the third quarter for the Royals as she scored eight of her points sinking two three-pointers to help the Royals to a 63-42 advantage after three. The Royals' advantage expanded to as much as 24 on a Fust three-pointer with 6:38 to go in the fourth quarter. HIU shot 36% from the floor in the contest (29-81), dished out 14 assists and 15 steals. The Royals will be back in action on Friday, November 5th at Occidental at 7 PM.
