Anaheim, CA — JV Lady Lions upped their Trinity League record to 2 wins - 1 loss this afternoon at Anaheim Tennis Center; capturing 8 of 9 sets of doubles and 7 of 8 sets in singles. Ava Hetland started off with a 1 hour+ singles match vs their Line #1 “human backboard” Vandella, losing 5-7; but bouncing back to win her next set 6-3. Helena Sartor partnered with Makenna Mason and won 2 of 3 sets at #3 doubles, both playing 3 full sets of tennis today for the first time this season. Makenna and Helena got 4 games off OLu’s top doubles team in the final round in a well played set. Lines #1 & #2 doubles each won 3 sets handily. Olivia Nowlan and Erica Gonzalez won 6-2, 6-0, 6-1. Sofia Recupero and Katherine Dygean won 6-0, 6-1, 6-0. These 4 doubles players get MVP honors today for winning 100% of all sets played. Earning MVP honors in singles by winning 100% of 3 sets played by each: Sophia Staff (6-3, 6-0, 6-1) and Alma Bayat (7-5, 6-4, 6-2).
