CA — Wolverines were too much for the Lions this afternoon. They had solid, quick players in both singles and doubles. We had a tiny bit more success at doubles in terms of games won, but not by much. Alma Bayat, Katherine Dygean and Sophia Staff each played 2 full sets of singles with Jenna Carter, Makenna Mason and Ava Zell filling in for the remainder of 3 sets. Fionnuala McClain and Helena Sartor got 2 games off Aliso’s top doubles team in a well-played, 3rd round set. Closest we got this afternoon was our top doubles team: Sofia Recupero and Taylor Mindte vs their line 2 team in the 3rd round. This set was closer than the 3-6 score suggests, with some very aggressive doubles play - nice effort. Bottom line, everybody who showed up got into the match, the girls played hard, and nobody got hurt! Next up: Thursday, Sept. 16th at home vs. San Juan Hills, 3pm.
