San Juan Capistrano, CA — The ‘Kardiac Kids’ were at it again, pulling out their second one-goal victory in a row, beating Los Al 14-13. It was tight early with things knotted at 3 at the end of the 1st. Steve Partsch struck first and Bode buried 2 nice outside shots in the quarter. Waylon got things going in the 2nd with an early goal. Jason, Steve and Bode scored one each, stretching the Lions’ lead to 7-4 late in the half. The Griffin’s got a late quarter goal to tighten things up at 7-5. Los Al came out hot in the 3rd, outscoring JSerra 4-2 with Will and Jason being the lone Lions to score in the quarter. JSerra turned the tide early in the 4th with 2 goals by Drew and 1 from Will to pull ahead 12-9. Just when we thought the lead was safe, Los Al rattled off 3 in a row to tie it at 12 with 2:46 to go in the game. Will and Johan added two late goals to push JS back ahead by enough to finally put this one away. Way to keep cool under pressure and pull out another close victory. On to league play with the next game vs SM on 10/5.
