Ventura, CA — The Buena frosh played the Dos Pueblos frosh on Thursday and won the game 14-0 to go 2 and 2 on the season. The defense led the team again to the win with many players contributing to the victory. Playing well,Tyler Hoff had a key interception in the fourth quarter and a fumble recovery. Jonathon Cortez had a fumble recovery for a touchdown to give us a 8-0 lead in the first half. Raymond Zendejas also had a key fumble to stop a Dos Pueblo drive. Hudson Machado had two sacks on the Dos Pueblos Quarterback. Ian Fish returning to the team this week played well. The offense played error free football. Starting in the fourth quarter and led by Jacob Compos after a Dos Pueblos turnover, we had a seven play drive to ice the game with a touchdown. On offense also playing well were Michael Gibson, Grant Barajas, Jackson Carter and Nicholas Lopez. Next up for the Buena frosh are the Rio Mesa Spartans on Thursday September 16.
