Ventura, CA — The Buena frosh played the Oxnard frosh on August 26. Even with some key players missing for the game both on offense and defense, our young men played hard. Elijah Paris came into the game at QB in the second half due to an injury and helped us score. Michael Smith also started at wide receiver for the first time as did Tyler Pham as our Z back on offense. Defensively we had to shore up our defense by moving different players into new positions for the first time, including Raymond Zendejas, Adrian Hinojosa and Nathan Arevalo. We should improve with the experience of a game for new starters and another week of practice. Our record now stands at 1 - 1 on the season with the loss to Oxnard and are looking to improve for next game against the Highlands frosh.
