Recap
Huntington Beach, CA — JSerra got drilled by the Oilers this morning, in score, but not in spirit, losing 3 - 15. Great parent support, thank you!
The last set played was Brooke Bowman defeating HB's top player (her 2nd set win of the morning, earning her MVP honors). This set literally started after 17 other sets were completed. Brooke methodically played great defense, returned fast serves, and moved in and attacked short balls for a very convincing 6-2 win. This set was played after a 5 minute rest on a 2nd round tie-breaker which was almost an hour long. Super effort today Brooke!
Our 'tripod" of girls at line #1 doubles played well today, two of whom earned MVP honors with a 3rd round back and forth 6-4 win on the top doubles court. Congrats and thanks for your excellent efforts today: Jordan Gross and Sydney Wood - cheered on by their other partner, Kendall Beurelein.
The girls will start posting some stronger doubles scores as they get used to playing with each other. Singles did very well today, considering it was the first match we didn't play all doubles. Faith Blower got a respectable 4 games off their top singles player in the first round, as Jacqueline Poli was getting 4 games off their #3 player. Solid efforts today ladies.
