Westminster, CA — Sharing 10 courts with Varsity both playing at same location, JV players dropped only 2 sets this afternoon. Fionnuala McClain won 2 sets of doubles, as did Cecilia Nama with partner Olivia Nowlan. Fionnuala won w Erica Gonzalez and then w Meghan Reiner, who subbed in from Varsity for a 3rd round win. Erica Gonzalez got to play singles and doubles, winning both. Well done! Winning 1 set each in singles and then doubles, kudos to both Katherine Dygean and Sophia Gonzalez (helping out our short handed JV squad). Dynamic duo of Anna Solovjev and Natalie Walters won both sets of doubles played. La Quinta’s #1 player, Joanne, was too tough for both Katherine (5-6) and Sophia (4-6). Despite the losses, these were the best 2 sets played this afternoon. Special kudos to senior Virginia Egan, who won her first ever singles set in a tie-breaker in the final set of the afternoon.
