Mission Viejo, CA — In dominating fashion, JSerra’s JV team swept the Tartans under the rug this afternoon, thereby evening up their record to 2 wins vs 2 losses. Everybody who played today is an MVP; each joined the 100% club winning all sets played. Olivia Nowlan stepped up to play, and win, a 3rd set for slightly injured Ava Hetland. With the exception of our top 3 singles players, everybody else got 2 full sets in today. Truly a total team effort. After our 3 starters bowed out (Sofia Recupero, Katherine Dygean, Taylor Mindte) 9th graders Alma Bayat, Sophia Staff, and Cecilia Nama subbed into the top 3 singles spots and won 6 sets between them in rounds 2 & 3. Well done. We played doubles in “3 pods” again. Jenna Carter, Grace Medina, and 9th grader Maddy Valente dominated line 3 doubles, each playing twice, once with each other. Same great results at line 2 doubles, with shutout being delivered by Lauren Walcott, Helena Sartor, and 9th grader Hailey Klein. Line 1 doubles was a sweep as well with Ava Hetland, Fionnuala McClain and another 9th grader, Olivia Nowlan winning all 3 sets here.
