el monte, CA — The Lady Vanguards Kicked off the season with the Arroyo Shootout. The Arroyo Shootout consisted of 8 girl teams that included last seasons state champions San Fernando valley, Arroyo, South Hills, Downey, Orange Vista, Bonita, Montebello and us. Led by our two senior captains Karen Bello and Brittany Sanchez, the Lady Vanguards went 3-2 on the day, finishing the day strong with two victories in a row. This tournament was a great experience for our young team as we showed constant improvement throughout the day. We Finished tied for third as a team on the day and had 7 individual Placers. 1st Place: Britny Morales, 2nd Place: Karen Bello, Brittany Sanchez, Dulce Paredes, 3rd place: Jayme Garza, Leslie Quezada, Kirsten Ravelo.
