Norco, CA — The Lancers competed at the Woodbridge XC Classic, one of the largest meets to date! The Lancers competed against 6700 athletes alone on Friday for the two-date event. The Woodbridge XC Classic took place on Friday, September 20, two days after competing at the Freeway League Preview on Wednesday, September 18. Kyler Ma (FR) kicked off Woodbridge in the Novice Division with a time of 26:19.9 and saw a 1 minute, 47 second improvement from his previous race time of 28:06.88! The JV Girls had an outstanding performance with Dayel Martinez (JR) leading the girls. Dayel finished with a time of 25:02.2 and saw a 1 minute, 19 second improvement from her previous race time of 26:21.64! Both Sophomore Girls finished in the top 100 and received a medal. Julissa Herrera (SO) finished 48th with a time of 22:03.4 and a 45 second improvement from her previous race time of 22:48.62! Abby Hahm (SO) finished 98th with a time of 23:37.6 and a 2 minute, 2 second improvement from her previous race time of 25:39.91! The Freshman Boys were led by Sergio Perez (FR) who finished 159th overall with a time of 19:43. Sergio saw a 41 second improvement from his previous race time of 20:23.89! The Sophomore Boys were led by Noah Flores (SO) who finished 90th overall with a time of 18:06.3, earning a medal! Noah saw a 57 second improvement from his previous race time of 19:03.27. Kai Gonzales (JR) raced in the Junior Division and finished with a time of 22:12.5 placing 280th overall. Both Senior Boys in the Senior Division saw new Personal Records (PRs) for the course! Chris Fu (SR) had a 15 second PR with a time of 19:39.8 and Chris Sanchez (SR) had a 4 minute, 29 second PR with a time of 20:16.9! The Varsity Boys finished the boys’ races with a 19th place team finish out of 29 teams and 3 in the top 100! Zachary Gomez (SO) led the boy’s team with a 9th place finish and a 45 second PR with a time of 15:22.5! Emiliano Zavala (JR) had a 43 second PR with a time of 16:13.6 placing 66th and Robert Flores had an 86th place finish with a time of 16:29.6! Noah Barragan (SR) had a 3 second PR with a time of 17:01.2 and Noah Rovira (SR) had a 37 second PR with a time of 18:28.3! The Varsity Girls finished the night with a 12th place finish out of 27 teams and 3 in the top 100! Esther Fee (JR) led the girl’s team with an 11th place finish and a 21 second PR with a time of 18:30.4! Peyton Rushing (JR) had a 7 second PR and 45th place finish with a time of 19:14.8, and Stephanie Gonzales (JR) had a 49th place finish with a time of 19:18.9! Hanna Oltman (JR) had a 1 minute, 25 second PR with a time of 20:18.8!
