Placentia, CA — The Lancers took on their first 3 mile of the season at the Pat Hadley Memorial Invitational. The racing divisions were broken up by grade level. Senior Girls was the first race where we had two seniors run. Elyse Angelus finished 54th overall and Ashley Santana finished 61st overall. Senior Boys placed 9th against 12 teams and was led by Robert Flores who finished 32nd overall with a time of 17:21.7. Freshmen Girls had a great showing with Carissa Paredes and Jeweliet Fields finishing in the top 15! Carissa finished 12th with a time of 21:51.6 and Jeweliet finished 14th with a time of 22:13.9. Freshmen Boys placed 9th out of 11 teams and was led by Sergio Perez who placed 40th overall with a time of 20:30.0. Sophomore Girls placed 8th out of 8 teams and was led by Julissa Herrera who finished 39th overall with a time of 23:32.7. Sophomore Boys placed 4th out of 12 teams and was led by Zachary Gomez who won with a time of 15:51.7. This was the first time Zachary broke the 16 minute mark! Another notable performance was Nathaniel Valenzuela finishing 19th with a time of 18:31.1, placing in the top 20. Junior Girls paced 3rd out of 4 teams and was led by Esther Fee who finished 2nd overall with a time of 19:05.2. Another notable performance comes from Stephanie Gonzalez who finished 9th to make the top 10 with a time of 21:01.0. Peyton Rushing and Hanna Oltman finished 16th and 25th, respectfully, to make the top 30. Junior Boys finished the races taking 13th out of 13 teams and was led by Emiliano Zavala who finished 19th with a time of 17:30.6 to make top 20.
