Los Angeles, CA — The last meet of the year in the League. The JV boys finished 2nd, one point behind RFK. Marvin finished 3rd overall, Carlos was 6th, Michael M was 8th, and Brayan 10th - all earning league medals - and making us the only team with four in the top ten. We only had 2 girls in the JV race, so we didn't have enough runners to form an official team. But Michelle finished 5th and Karina was 9th (setting a PR with her first race under 28) - both medaling. The FS girls were second in this race. We had 5 medalists in the top 10 - Karen, Jennifer, Sandra, Iris, and Roselin. Karen and Jennifer ran so well that they've earned spots on the varsity team for the City meet. The Varsity girls finished in 2nd - just two points behind RFK. It was tight the whole way, but Michelle C held on to win the race and become the league champion for this year. She and Mayte (8th) early All-League honors and Leslie, Sharline, and Brianna medaled. The Varsity boys had some great performances. Cesar broke 18:00 for the first time, and was joined by Andrew who also got under 18:00 for the first time this season. But the highlight of the race was Gustavo coming from behind in the last 150 meters and in a head-to-head sprint to the finish nosed ahead for a fraction of second victory - grabbing the boys league champion title.
