Long Beach, CA — The first round of the CIF Southern Regional Individual playoffs again showed its teeth with a super competitive field of 116 players teeing it up at Skylinks golf course in Long Beach on Monday 5/6/19. Only the top 20 players would qualify for the second round of the playoffs, and after all the scorecards were signed, the big news was that there were several players who moved on to the Southern California Finals last year who missed the cut this year in the first round. The cut line came in at 74 (+2) with 11 players heading to a sudden death playoff for 8 spots. The Wave league had one player, Josh Vo from Fountain Valley, who was in the playoff, but he didn't advance. So, none of our Wave league players moved on. However, there were 3 players from the Surf league who advanced to the second round.
