L.W. Clapp Memorial Park
"Running is not about being better than someone else; it's about being better than you used to be."
Today the Goddard Lions raced in postseason competition in the AVCTL Division 2 League Meet. The race conditions were perfect and L.W. Clapp Memorial Park provided the perfect stage to run fast race times on. The AVCTL League meet brought together all of the teams in the AVCTL. Specifically the Lions were concerned with the following schools in Division 2: Andover, Andover, Central, Arkansas City, Eisenhower, Newton, and Salina Central. The Lions took on the challenge of L.W. Clapp Memorial Park and ran their hearts out today. Today was a day of mixed emotions ranging from excitement to sadness as some athletes finished their cross country season and others finished their career.

Reflections:
We had an incredible season, marked by dedicated training since June. The Lions worked hard, had fun, and created lasting memories together. This season was successful and enjoyable for everyone involved. Us coaches are so proud of how so many runners finished their season on a personal record. Seniors we still have Regionals so I am waiting to write a reflection for you all <3
Looking ahead:
Next weekend on Saturday the Lions Travel to Great Bend to race in Regionals! Varsity runners go to Great Bend with aspirations of qualifying for the State Cross Country meet at Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence, KS. Regional runners we will practice each day after school from 3:15-4:45 on campus.
Season Wrap Up:
If you are not going to Regionals next weekend you will not need to report to Cross Country Practice next week. Uniforms/sweats may be returned at anytime to Coach Andrews during school. We will only be bringing two vans to regionals, but we would love to have as much support as possible to help our Varsity Runners get to State! I will be sending Regional Cross Country Race itinerary in the coming days. Banquet info/dates to come in the future.
GO LIONS!
