Santa Clarita, CA — Thank you to the Saugus High School football program for helping to organize a great tournament with Under the Lights at Central Park. There were 12 schools participating and it was organized and run very well. In the first round of games Saugus beat Fillmore and Agoura. They had a rematch with Newbury Park High in their 3rd game. It was a very competitive game. Although they lost, Saugus showed a noticeable improvement compared to their first meeting last week. Saugus came from behind to beat Birmingham in the first round of playoffs and earned a spot in one of the 3 championship games. They played “Under the Lights” against Burbank High. That game was very exciting to watch but ended with a tough loss. Our boys showed a lot of heart, grit, and perseverance in their play in that game as well as in the entire tournament.
