Lake Ariel, PA — The Honesdale Boys Track & Field team lost another tough one to Western Wayne 82 to 62. Logan Novobilski led the hornets with 3 first place finishes with victories in the 1600m, 800m and anchoring the team of Peter Pham, Kobe White and Aiden Collins in the 4x400 relay. Kobe White also had a great day with a first place finish in the triple jump along with a second place finish in the high jump and a third place finish in the long jump. Peter Pham also won the 400m run and a 3rd place finish in the 200m dash. Aiden Collins added a second place finish in 200m dash and a 3rd place finish in the 100m dash. In the hurdles Owen Parenti and Ryan Brescia finished in 2nd and 3rd place respectively in both the 110 m high and 300 m hurdles. In the field, Robert Quinn won the pole vault. Wyatt Rutherford had a 2nd place finish in both the shot put and discus. The Honesdale Girls Track & Field team competed very and came away with a big victory versus Western Wayne 96-43. For the second consecutive meet, the team of Chloee Spry, Avi Spry, Vera Downey and Karson Kromko started the meet off with a win in the 3200m relay. The Hornets also swept the remaining relays with the team of Elizabeth Meagher, Emma Snow, Alyssa and Alexandria Hankins winning the 4x100 relay and the team of Vera Downey, Hailey Kissolovege, Alyssa Czekai and Brenna Dahlgren winning the 4x400 relay. The girls also swept both hurdle events with Ruby Martin coming in first in the 100m high hurdles and Erin Meagher winning the 300m hurdles. Other winners on the track were Brenna Dahlgren in the 1600m, Megan Kretschmer the 800m and Karsyn Kromko in the 400 meter runs. In the field, Rebecca Dadig won both the long and triple jumps. Elizabeth Meagher won the high jump. Alexandria Hankins won the pole vault. Many other Hornets finished in second and third place competing strong versus the Wildcats.
