Zane wrestled up a weight class for a majority of the duals to help the team fill the lineup and give us the best chance at winning as a team. Due to to his efforts and great performance Zane won 3rd place and finished the weekend with a record of 6-3.

CO-MVP

Eric Aguilar

Eric continues to have a great season. Eric went undefeated finishing 9-0 on the weekend and claimed 1st place in his weight class.

Liam Baker

In every match Liam wrestled over the weekend was an experienced skilled wrestler. After the tournament was all said and done Liam claimed 3rd place and finished with a record of 6-2.

Gabriel Gonzalez

Gabriel shared time at 190lbs and 215lbs over the weekend and was in the lineip for 7 of the 9 duals and finished with a record of 6-1. Gabe was awarded a 3rd place finish.

Cougars Battle 9 Teams

Anaheim, CA — The Cougars competed in the Western High 10 Way duals. With only a few weights with more than one wrestler, many wrestlers had to compete in 9 matches over the 2 day span. The team wrestled very well and came away with a winning record over the 9 duals. The Cougars stepped up big and finished in 5th place with a 5-4 record and were 1 point away from finishing in 3rd. Our team learned what it takes to win as a team in dual meets, which should serve us well moving into the league dual meet part of our season.
