Thompsonville, MI — "Today's race was a great way to finish the season. We raced against a bunch of teams that we have a lot of connections too. We used to train and share time at Bittersweet with Plainwell TK, our middle school skiers have raced against Grand Rapids Christian and Grand Rapids Catholic Central/West Catholic for years, we have participated in the Clare Invitational since it began and we are in a conference with Benzie, Glen Lake and Onekama along with racing against them for years at Invitationals. Our skiers know many of their athletes and it is a great group of coaches to work with to pull off a race".
"Mya Baldwin, Kyleigh Thompson and Adia Whisler have been a part of the team since middle school, Elizabeth Honhart joined the team as a junior and our exchange students Zosia Skrzypek, Tamara Sarkoevia, and Vicky Brousse are all incredible young women and we are going to miss off of them next year. This is the largest group of senior girls that we have had on the Caledonia Ski Team in years."
"Our Invitational is unique in that we allow teams to race their JV teams and we score everyone against each other. Our varsity team placed 5th, our JV 1 team placed 8th and our JV 2 team placed 11 out of the 14 which we are excited about. Our girls have really improved over the year and we are excited their progress."
Leading the varsity team was Mya Baldwin, who medaled in both events (12th GS & 15th SL), Kyleigh Thompson (18th GS & 21st SL), Liz HIlton (30th GS & 31st SL), Zosia Skrzypek (28th GS &32nd SL).
