Thompsonville, MI — Monday, the Caledonia Ski Team competed in the Bryan Groenevelt Memorial Invitational Race hosted by the Benzie Central Ski Team at Crystal Mountain. The race memorializes a ski racer that tragically passed away while racing at Crystal Mountain. "Our boys team skied much better today, we were able to get some quality practice time in this weekend and the reps in courses really showed up in the race. You could see the confidence level of our racers go up each run and I know that this race is a stepping stone towards more improvement at Wednesday's race." Coach Petrosky, "DJ Potgeter really skied well and showed why he was chosen the Caledonia Athletic Booster's Athlete of the month for January. He finished 12th in slalom and 15th in GS in the field of nine teams." Every one of the Scots skiers that raced scored at this race. Ben Diegel (25th Sl), Aidan Brown(33rd Slalom), James Diegel (37.5 Sl--his first varsity points), Brayden Smith (18.5 th GS), Derick Prichard (23rd GS) and Cohen Broomfield (24th GS).
