Recap
Aurora, IL — QUADRANGULAR
METEA VALLEY H.S.
SHOCK THE WORLD
Paul McCormick is a rookie-senior, new to track.
Paul’s best 100m so far is 11.70, best 200, 23.71.
On a cold night at Metea Valley, Paul ran a full 400 for the first time.
52.5
Or is it shocking?
Paul has consistently ranked in our top-eight in mph, 22.1.
In our last 4x4 Predictor, Paul placed 6th on the team, predicting 52.57
I’m reminded of another first-year rookie senior from 2012, Evan Flagg.
On April 9th, 2012, Evan Flagg ran his first-ever 400, 53.9.
45 days later, Evan was an all-stater (49.5 anchor in 4x4).
Welcome to the 4x4 Paul McCormick!
13 PRS FOR THROWERS
MESCIOGLU 47’1”, 127’7”
Omer Mescioglu already holds our FS indoor shot record and is now only 15 inches from our FS outdoor record (48’4” by Nick Wolf).
Kyle Weeks also had a double PR, 45’4” and 122’4” (last year 36’2” and 100’9”)
Kevin Wilson won the FS shot with a PR, 41’7” (last year 33’0”).
4x1 WINS FOR FIRST TIME
With two guys who had never run a 4x1 (Gramley, Patterson), we were awful in our first two meets.
We ran a solid 43.14 last Saturday.
Today we ran 43.28 and it looked smooth.
Winning a 4x1 is, developmentally, an important step.
I’m starting to think this group (no seniors) can run mid-42s this year (42.99 is state qualifying).

🔥🔥🔥
EWAN HAS BIG NIGHT
Ewan Farnum, fighting for a spot on our 4x8 and our 4x4, ran a PR 53.05 and 52.7.
Our 4x4 looks to be Brennan (50.0), Stahl (51.7), and Miller (51.0) at this point.
The 4th guy is up for grabs between Pauly, Amoo-Otoo, McCormick, Farnum, and Gavras.
Pauly ran 51.2 last year.
Seven of the eight guys listed are underclassmen.
OMAR IS DOUBLE WINNER
FS 100: 11.52
FS 200: 23.12
Omar Coleman was last year’s FS conference champ.
KYRYCHENKO STEPS UP
Aidan Kyrychenko (freshman) placed 2nd in the FS 400, 55.42, and led his FS 4x4 to a win (56.5).
Aidan is getting close to cracking the Pntrack FS All-Time list in the 400 (it will take 54.69 to make the top 25).
GAVRAS DOMINATES
15.50 in HH (1st)
41.84 in INT (1st)
53.3 in 4x4
(last week, Evan Gavras ran a 53.1 lead-off in the 6th lane of a 6-lane track)
RENEAU 2:08.13
Evan Reneau broke 2:10 in the 800 for the first time.
Last year as a sophomore, Evan ran 2:24.06.
Amazing improvement.
Evan also ran a PR 55.4 split in the 4x4.
A-A FS 3200 1-2
Freshmen Dylan Araiza and Cal Anderson placed 1-2 in the FS 3200.
Araiza 11:04
Anderson 11:21
