Kent City, MI — Great day for the Comets at the MHSAA Div. 3 State Meet at Kent City. Our results consisted of: Graham Gumper - 5th place in the 100m with a time of 11.05 (also ran a time of 10.99 in the prelims making a new School Record for H-H being the first person in Comet history to break 11 seconds) Austin Brown - 13th place in the 800m with a time of 2:03.07 Rogan Melling - 4th place in the 3200m with a time of 9:46.28 Boys 4x800m consisting of Zach Hassenzahl, Rogan Melling, Owen Brown, & Austin Brown - 7th place with a time of 8:19.01 Olivianna Watkins - 12 place in the 300m Hurdles with a time of 49.49 Kaytie Warren - 5th place in the Long Jump with a jump of 16’ 0 Girls 4x200m Relay consisting of Alayna Shackelford, Sophie Reynolds, Olivianna Watkins, Kaytie Warren - 17th place with a time of 1:51.86 Girls 4x800m Relay consisting of Olivianna Watkins, Lily Mason, Ava Schnell, & Sophie Reynolds - 18th place with a time of 10:33.75 Great job Comets for a great meet and an additional congratulations to Graham for breaking the school record in the 100m!! What a way to end a season! Our last track event of the 2023 season is on Monday, June 5 for our banquet at 6pm at the Hillside UMC (church across from school). Please bring a dessert to pass around.
