Avery Haney has been a part of our girls soccer program every year since being in high school (minus 2020 covid year). She was the team MVP for each of the past two seasons, was voted a CAAC all conference honorable mention player as a junior, was a member of the Ionia Sentinel all-county girls soccer team, as well as a Greenville Daily News all area honorable mention player. Avery was our leading assist scorer with 6 assists as a junior and also scored 4 goals of her own.
How has the game of soccer impacted your life?
“Because of soccer I have built a lot of confidence in myself.”
What is your favorite thing about being involved with soccer?
“I have so many memories from being involved with soccer. I have made so many friends that I would have never even talked to if it wasn’t for playing soccer. The girls soccer program has grown a lot over the past few years and it has taught me a lot about being a part of a team.”
What other school activities are you involved in besides soccer?
“I play golf (academic all conference for the past 2 years), and am involved with the National Honor Society with the high school.”
Share a fun fact or two about yourself.
“I plan to be an elementary school teacher in the future and have already started getting involved by taking educational career classes through the ICCC.”
